As Futaba Corporation (hereinafter the “Company”, “we”, “our,” or “us”) handles user information containing their personal information on the website provided by us (hereinafter the “Site”), the Company recognizes it is important, and believes it is our social responsibility and duty, to protect the personal information in compliance with legislation related to personal information protection. For that reason, the Company provides the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter the “Policy”).

1. Personal Information to be Collected and How to Collect it

The personal information herein means information pertaining to the identification of users, action history on communication services, and other information generated or accumulated regarding users and their terminals, which the Company collects pursuant to this Policy. The personal information that the Company collects on the Service is classified into the following items depending on the collection method:

4. Third-party Provision

The Company will not provide personal information to any third party (including those outside Japan) without the advance consent of the person concerned. However, this does not apply where it is necessary to provide it to any of the following third parties (including those outside Japan):

  1. (1) When outsourcing all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary for us to achieve the purpose of use
  2. (2) When providing personal information incidental to business succession due to a merger or other cause
  3. (3) When personal information is provided to a partner or information collection module provider in accordance with “3. External Transmission, Third-Party Provision, and Information Collection Modules”
  4. (4) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government organ, local government, or a person commissioned thereby to perform business provided in legislation, and obtaining the consent of the user is likely to impede the performance of the business
  5. (5) When it is permitted under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter the “Personal Information Protection Act”) or other legislation

5. Joint Use

The Company may jointly use necessary information items, including names, addresses, workplaces, portraits of individuals, and what products and services they purchased, with our affiliated companies, joint researchers, special agents, agencies, etc. within the purpose set forth in “2. Purpose of Using Personal Information.” Futaba Corporation is responsible for the management of the said personal information.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

When it is requested by the person concerned under the Personal Information Protection Act, the Company will, after having confirmed that it is a request of the person concerned, notify or disclose their personal information or the purpose of using the information. If no such personal information exists, the Company will notify the person to such effect. However, this does not apply where the Company is not required to disclose it under the Personal Information Protection Act or other legislation. *Please see “8. 7. Correction to Personal Information or Discontinuation of Use

  1. (1) When (i) correction, addition or deletion of personal information is requested on the ground that its information is not accurate; (ii) discontinuation of use or erasure of personal information is requested on the ground that it is handled beyond the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use notified to the person concerned or otherwise announced without their advance consent, or that it is collected through fraudulent or other wrongful means; or (iii) discontinuance of provision of personal information to a third party is requested on the ground that it is provided to a third party in violation of “4. Third-party Provision” above, the Company will, pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act, after having confirmed that it is a request of the person concerned, conduct necessary investigation without delay, and correct, discontinue using personal information, discontinue providing it to third party or implement any other requested measure based on results of the investigation, with notice to such effect given to the requester. If the Company decides not to implement the requested measure for a reasonable reason, the requester will be given notice to such effect.
  2. (2) If the erasure of personal information is requested, and the Company finds it necessary to accept the request, the Company will erase the information after having confirmed that it is a request of the person concerned, and will notify the person to such effect.
  3. (3) The preceding two paragraphs do not apply where the Company is not required to correct the information, discontinue using it or take other relevant measures under the Personal Information Protection Act or other legislation.

This Privacy Policy may be subject to review and improvement as necessary. The latest version will be published on the Site.

10. Security Measures for Personal Information

To securely manage and operate customers’ personal information, the Company has reasonable and proper security measures in place to prevent risks to personal information, including unauthorized access from outside, loss, damage, corruption, falsification, leakage, and illegal divulgence to outside the Company. The Company has also appointed a personal information protection manager for each division handling personal information to ensure proper management of personal information, and it provides internal regulations on security control and gives employees education for personal information protection.

The Company strives to protect the personal information of children to the maximum extent possible as in the case of adults. Please make sure to provide any personal information of a child under 18 years of age under the consent of the parent.

13. Information Protection by SSL

The Site protects personal information using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) as the encryption technique when the information is provided from the person concerned. SSL encrypts communications between the browser and the Web server. It automatically encrypts the name, address, telephone number and other personal information entered by the person concerned to prevent third parties from stealing or falsifying data when they are communicated.
